animation

The imitation of real life motion through moving pictures is known as animation. Still pictures when are made to move at a certain number of frames per second lead to an Illusion of continuous motion. Charity of animations now are developed with the help of CGI (Computer – Generated Imagery). With the help of 3D animation, you can achieve high level of detailing, and 2D animation is used to fill in the gaps for 3D motion graphics where low bandwidth does not permit faster renderings in real time.

The effect of animation is essentially accomplished by making images move over in quick succession sequentially. The difference between two consecutive images are not picked by human eye during transition.

Earlier, Animations were broadcasted in analogue mode through TV and Video Player. Now, the devices play out animation in digital mode.

Animation is generally considered just for entertainment purpose as many people do not understand the need of animation in today’s world. Animation is considered as a unique branch which brings matchless value to a trove of business and entertainment activities.

Types of Animation

  1. Traditional Animation

This is a long drawn process which requires much time and energy. For every movement, individual frame is needed. In cartoon like Tom and Jerry, this traditional animation work was involved.

  1. 2D Animation

It is based on vector like traditional animation. The only difference is that frames are not drawn manually rather using computer program like Flash or Adobe Animate is used for animation.

  1. 3D Animation

The graphics  which we see in sci-fic or modern movies are the handiwork of 3D Animation which needs advanced 3D modeling software. Frames are not needed for showcasing the movement. In this case, 3D objects are moved on screen for simulation of the real time motion .

  1. Animation Through Motion Graphics

This is different from other animated means. This method is generally visible in infotainment videos, film titles, animated logos, promotional campaigns and advertisements.

  • Stop Motion Animation

This is a method which tests the patience of the artist. It starts with the photographing of the object in a succession of images. Each of the image is the representation of a subtle motion of the object.

  • Cutout and College Animation

This method is used for displaying simple animation over television. In this type, models used are cut from the craft or drawing paper. The cutouts are then placed loosely alongside each other which can be arranged after connecting with fasteners.

  • Rotoscoping

This method is used for capturing human movements realistically. In this method, live footage of the actors is shot which is followed by drawing the characters over it.

Some of the important areas where animation is used:-

  1. Education

Animation fir educational purposes can be efficiently utilised as humans have the tendency to remember videos and images more than the textual content. Animated videos improve the quality of reception of learners which brings exceptional changes to the academic capabilities of people.

  • Entertainment

  • Marketing

Animation brings in a lot of creativity to your marketing which helps you to expand your reach. An animated 3D demonstration of your product will benefit a lot to your company.

  • Scientific Visualization

Animation is used to represent and create 3D models for a wide range of objects for realistic visualisation.

  • Creative Arts

Motion graphics is largely used to explain and generate the skills required for attending a certain level of Creative proficiency.

  • Gaming

Gaming industry is fully dependent on animation as most 3D characters for games are created with the help of animation. It is the basic on which everything on a game is modelled and created.

  • Simulations

Simulations are used in areas where real life training of people cannot be controlled or is dangerous. Military training, training of Pilots are the example of simulation. It is also used in various organisations to predict the outcome of the activities.

  1. Medical

Animation is used widely in the medical industry. Animation health professional and students to visualise the human anatomy with clarity. Hospitals and other Healthcare Institutions are pairing up with the platforms which provides animation.

  • Retail

Retail Industry has been benefited immensely from animated videos. The market showcases their product attributes to the customer with the help of animation. 3D Modelling and animation interprets the function of a product along with its features in a lucid Manner.

  • Architecture

3D animation has saved the marketing mechanism of real estate. In architecture using 3D animation you can explain the proposed design to the customer in simplified manner.

  • Manufacturing

Animation is used to develop virtual models of various products in the manufacturing sector. Designs become handy to the forms as they can save a good amount of money during manufacturing of the product. Also one can detect the problems in the model with the help of animation.

These are some of the sectors where animation is utilised largely. It has other applications in different areas too. There are many platforms which handles animation projects successfully in India as well as in abroad
