Industry 5.0 refers to the condition where humans work alongside robots and Smart machines. It is a support system to Industry 4.0. Both human and robots or machine working together brings out efficiency and the assigned task is done faster. Industry 5.0 is also known as Collaborative Industries. Due to increased customer demand many manufacturers now prefer a collaborative system of working or a connect workforce i.e. combination of both human and robots. One of the example of such collaborative working is Swiss kitchen’s manufacturer Franke who used UR robots along with human to boost the speed of production and also that the employees can focus on other process of production.
The robots that work in Industry 5.0 are known as collaborative robot. Collaborative robots or Cobots are robots that are designed for human robots interaction. They are meant to help humans by sharing the same space. These collaborative robots provide a lot of benefits. They are the following:
- Synchronization: even though collaborative robots can manufacture a product at a high speed and in a standardized way it still needs human touch. Like in case of customization or personalization it is quite difficult for a robot hence, a human touch is required. Together with humans the robots maintain a synchronization.
- Creation of jobs: within next decade there will be around 3.4 million jobs with only 1.4 million workers to qualify them. the Cobots can fill those roles and work with human’s side-by-side. They can even take over jobs that are risky for humans.
- Competitiveness: a business success depends on how it remains competitive. Advance automation and technologies offers a competitive advantage to a business organization
- Creates human roles: cobots or collaborative robots are designed to support human and not suspend human workforce. Humans can input their own creativity along with collaborative robots who take over strenuous and dangerous jobs. In this way the roles of human are kept in place.
The connective workforce no doubt provides a vast opportunity in boosting the manufacturing process. It also ensures safety of the employees and the workers and provides satisfaction at workplace. They can help the Industry to grown in future.
